Vats Srivatsan is WatchGuard’s Interim CEO, a newly appointed member of its Board of Directors, and an operating partner at Vector Capital. He’s a skilled executive with over three decades of experience leading large-scale cloud and security transformations, driving strategic growth, and launching advanced technologies for global enterprises. In his role as Interim CEO, Vats will work with WatchGuard’s long-standing executive team to continue advancing the company’s mission to simplify cybersecurity for MSPs while scaling its Unified Security Platform, deepening partner engagement, and accelerating innovation across managed services, endpoint protection, and hybrid network security.
Prior to joining WatchGuard, Vats served as the COO at SentinelOne, where he helped accelerate profitable growth through strategic partnerships and operational rigor. Before that, he played a central role as CSO in transforming Palo Alto Networks into a multi-platform cybersecurity leader, leading 10 acquisitions in under three years. Vats’ earlier experience includes building and scaling Google Cloud’s business from the ground up, launching Google’s Advanced Solutions Lab for AI, co-founding McKinsey & Company’s operations service for tech, media, and telecom, and driving factory performance improvement through automation systems as a senior Intel engineer.
Vats has a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
